WebSphere Portlet Factory is a powerful and rich environment for developing custom portlets and components, using a model-based development paradigm. In this presentation, we'll help developers maximize their productivity and effectiveness with WebSphere Portlet Factory by describing some proven best practices. Topics will include SOA, selecting the right Builder, performance considerations, debugging, and more. Key implementation methodologies will be demoed, including creation of services for data access, leveraging AJAX, and creating multilingual portlets. We'll demonstrate deploying components to IBM WebSphere Portal, IBM Lotus Expeditor and IBM Lotus Notes 8.
